Fair Use Policy

Last updated: April 6, 2026

1. Purpose

This policy supplements our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. It governs AI usage on lynox Managed Hosting, which includes AI capabilities powered by third-party infrastructure (currently AWS Bedrock in Frankfurt). This policy ensures every customer gets a consistent, reliable experience.

This policy applies to the Managed EU tier. The Starter tier uses your own API key (BYOK) and is not subject to AI usage limits from us — your AI provider's own terms apply.

2. What fair use means

Managed EU is designed for real business use: handling emails, managing contacts, running workflows, doing research, and interacting with your AI assistant throughout the workday.

We don't publish a specific token limit because normal business use varies. Instead, we allocate a generous monthly AI budget per instance that comfortably covers typical usage patterns — including busy days.

3. What's included

Typical business use that is fully covered:

4. What's not covered

The following uses exceed fair use and may result in throttling or suspension:

5. What happens when you reach the budget

If your AI budget is exhausted for the current billing period:

  1. Your instance will show a notice: "AI budget reached — resets on [date]."
  2. All non-AI features continue to work normally (Knowledge Graph, CRM, email access, workflows without AI steps).
  3. You can optionally purchase a credit pack (€10, €25, or €50) to continue using AI immediately.
  4. Your budget resets automatically at the start of the next billing period — no action needed.

We do not charge overage fees. We do not auto-upgrade your plan. Credit packs are optional — there are no surprise costs.

6. What we measure — and what we don't

We track aggregate AI costs per instance (total usage cost per billing period). This is required to enforce the budget and is standard for any managed AI service.

We do not:

Your data stays on your instance. We only see the numbers — never the content. For details on how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Enforcement

We handle fair use violations proportionally:

  1. Notification — we'll email you when your usage is approaching the budget limit
  2. Soft block — AI requests are paused until the next billing period
  3. Contact — for repeated or extreme cases, we'll reach out to discuss your needs

We will notify you before any suspension, except in cases of abuse or security incidents. If your business genuinely needs more capacity, we'll work with you on a solution.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before they take effect. The current version is always available at this URL.
